COVID-19 Shows the Precarious Situation of Emergency Services

As COVID-19 makes it's way through the Nation, we have come to identify services and businesses that we have labeled essential. Hospitals, grocery stores, food distribution centers, and delivery systems have been marked essential and have been kept open while most of the Nation stays home. As people begin to strain these services to their max, many people have come to realize the uncomfortable truth. Each of these services are dependent on electricity to keep their systems running. With such vital services being one of the few things to keep people safe and sane, the very idea of a power outage would be devastating to these businesses and the people they serve.

That is why it is so important that Microgrids be implemented asap! Microgrids would help bring energy resiliency to important community services and businesses. They would help protect the over-burdened grid. It is time to bring microgrids into the equation to protect our essential services.
